"The Birdsall family home is thought to be near Malton, East

Riding, Yorkshire. The first American records of Henry are

from 1632 after arriving in Boston with son Nathan and dau.

Judith. He was a member of the First Church of Salem. In 1643

He removed to New Haven. His will is recorded in probate

records in Essex Cty. Vol. 1, p. 123.

Henry Birdsall and Judith or Agness Kempe had the following

reference EC was born in Norwich, England 2 JUN 1611. Judith

died 11 SEP 1689 in Salem, Mass, at age 78.

She married Henry Cook 29 Jun 1639 in Salem, Mass. Henry

was born ABT 1615 in Yorkshire, England. Henry was the son of

Edmund Cooke and Elizabeth Nichols. Henry died 25 DEC 1661 in

Salem, Mass, at age 46. Henry was the first Cook in America.

He was at Salem, Mass. in 1638 and most likely arrived in US a

short time before that. He is believed to be a descendant of

the Cooks of Kent or Hertsfordshire who migrated from Normandy

in the 11th century. He came to New England as a Puritan.

Sons, Samuel and Henry Jr. emigrated to Connecticut while the

rest remained in Mass. The family also lived at Plymouth for a

time. The farm was passed to the widow after he died and it is

unknown where it passed from there.

Judith was the daughter of Henry Burdsall.

Judith Birdsall and Henry Cook had the following children:

Elizabeth Buxton May 3, 1664 in Salem, Mass.

Samuel died 25 Dec 1703 in Wallingford, Conn., at

age 62. He married four times. He married Hope

Parker 02 May 1667 in New Haven, Conn.. Hope was

born 26 Apr 1650 in New Haven, Conn.. Hope was

the daughter of Edward Parker. Hope died about

1691 at age unknown. Hope was dau. of Edward

Parker and Elizabeth Wood.

known as the widow Roberts. Samuel had 15

children. He was married 3 times and I don't know

which wives were the mothers of the children. THe
