Josephine Louise GRIDER

Josephine Louise GRIDER was born on 18 March 1886. She married Col. Fredrick Philip JACOBS. She died in March 1973.

Interest: She was an author of note, poetry and books. She wrote the poem for "Arkansas" in the book of poetry for the states which is kept in the White House. She also wrote, "Marse John Goes to War" and "Maid of the Mississippi." Josephine lived at Sans Souci until 1922 when it burned and they built the Grider Plantation and lived there until 1950.
